Automatic installation

The easiest way via your hosting control panel

Log in to your hosting

Go to your hosting control panel (usually cPanel, DirectAdmin or Plesk).

Open Softaculous

Search for "Softaculous Apps Installer" or "WordPress" in your control panel.

Most providers use Softaculous or Installatron for automatic installations.

Choose WordPress

Click on the WordPress icon and then on "Install" or "Install now".

  • Password
  • Email address

Fill in the details

Choose your domain, site name, admin username and password. NEVER use "admin" as username.

Click Install and wait 1-2 minutes until the installation is complete.

Step by step via FTP and your own database

Download WordPress

Download the latest version from WordPress.org. You will get a .zip file.

Create a database

Create a MySQL database via your hosting. Note: database name, username, password and hostname (usually "localhost").

  • Database host (usually localhost)

Upload files

Extract the .zip file and upload all files to your hosting via FTP. Upload to the public_html or www folder.

Start the installation

Go to your domain in the browser. WordPress automatically starts the installation wizard.

Configure database

Enter your database details when prompted. WordPress will connect to your database.

  3. Run the installation
  4. Choose a site title
  5. Create admin account
